Mohammed Gharib

Ph.D.

   Biography

Currently, I hold the position of senior research specialist at Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Clemson University, SC, US. I was formerly a postdoctoral fellow at the School of Informatics, Computation, and Cyber Systems (SICCS), Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, AZ, US, under the supervision of Prof. Fatmeh Afghah, and also at the Department of Computer Science, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, US, under the supervision of Prof. Soudeh Ghorbani. I was a senior researcher at the School of Computer Science, Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences (IPM), Tehran, Iran, from 2015 to 2018. I was also a senior lecturer at the Department of Computer Engineering, Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, between 2010 to 2018. I received a B.S. degree from the Department of Computer Engineering, Baghdad University of Technology, Baghdad, Iraq, in 2007, and both M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Computer Engineering, Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran in 2009 and 2015, respectively. During 2014, I had six months visiting research program, supervised by prof. Homayoun Yousefi’zadeh, in California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology, University of California Irvine, Irvine, California, US. Further, I visited the School of Innovation, Design, and Engineering at Malardalen University, Sweden, in 2018. I am primarily interested in conducting research at the intersection of wireless networks, security, protocol design, data science, and analytical modeling and analysis. My focus is particularly on the realm of cyber-physical systems, encompassing UAV networks, self-driving cars, IoT, and cloud networks, among others.
